Register to Vote Online by October 3

Morgan County residents with a Colorado State Driver's License or ID card issued by the Colorado Department of Revenue may register to vote online at www.govotecolorado.com The last day to register to vote in the November 2011 Election is October 3.

Verify or Update Voter Registration Online

Do you plan to vote in the November 2011 election, but did not vote in the 2010 election? If so you may now be listed as an inactive voter and may be at risk of not receiving a ballot to vote in 2011 November Election - which will be a mail ballot ONLY election, rather than a polling place election. Confirmation of your voter registration status is therefore strongly advised. To confirm your registration status including your address, party affiliation, voter status (active or inactive), and permanent mail ballot status please visit www.govotecolorado.com

 


 

2011 Morgan County Election Information

The 2011 Coordinated Election will be conducted by all mail ballot and voters are not required to affiliate with a political party to receive a ballot. Voters can also sign up to receive a Permanent Mail Ballot for each election conducted by the Morgan County Clerk and Recorder's Office.

Only Active Voters will be receiving a ballot.

Preliminary election results will be available after 7:00 pm on Election Day.

Identification Requirements for First Time Voters

 

If you registered to vote for the first time in your county by mail, and you have not previously voted in the county, a copy of one of the following forms of identification is required with your voted mail-in ballot if you did not provide the information with your registration application:

  • a valid Colorado driver's license
  • a valid identification card issued by the Department of Revenue in accordance with the requirements of Part 3 of Article 2 of Title 42, C.R.S.
  • a valid U.S. passport
  • a valid employee identification card with a photograph of the eligible elector issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the United States government or of this state, or by any county, municipality, board, authority, or other political subdivision of this state
  • a valid pilot's license issued by the Federal Aviation Administration or other authorized agency of the United States
  • a valid U.S. military identification card with a photograph of the eligible elector
  • a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the elector. For examples, please visit: www.elections.colorado.gov
  • a valid Medicare or Medicaid card issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services 
  • a certified copy of a U.S. birth certificate for the elector issued in the United States
  • certified documentation of naturalization
  • a valid student identification card with a photograph of the eligible elector issued by an institute of higher education in Colorado, as defined in section 23-3.1-102(5), C.R.S.

Military and Overseas Voters/Votantes Militares y Ultramar

Citizens living outside the U.S., including members of the military and spouses and dependents are eligible to register to vote in Morgan County, if Morgan County was your last domestic address.  The Federal Voter Assistance Program (FVAP) has now launched the Voter Registration Assistant, a new fillable Federal Postcard Application tool on its website to automate the process of registering and requesting a ballot.  You must meet the usual voter registration deadlines: the Morgan County Elections Division must receive your application at least 29 days prior to an election if you wish to vote in that election.
