Q: What is the subscription program and how does the plan work?
Insurance providers including Medicare/Medicaid maintain the right to deny payment to any ambulance service and/or assess large co-pays and deductibles. This could leave you with a huge unexpected bill. As a member of this subscription plan, you will reduce and in most cases eliminate out of pocket expenses.
What does this mean? It means that in your time of need, you can rest assured that someone trained in advanced emergency medicine will be coming to your aid. Our Paramedics and EMTs are continually tested and trained, preparing them for any emergency they may encounter.
Financially, Morgan County Ambulance Service has always maintained a self-supporting status. Although the ambulance service is under the umbrella of Morgan County Government, the ambulance service is a not for profit enterprise and does not receive outside funding (i.e. taxes). They rely solely on the users of the service.
With the rapidly increasing costs in health care and the cuts in insurance reimbursements, as well as auto insurance cutting coverage for medical expenses plus the rates for supplies and services constantly escalating, we're occassionally forced to increase our fees to offset expenditures.
Due to these increases, Morgan County is offering to help you reduce the expensive cost of ambulance transport, while at the same time continuing to provide the best care possible.
Morgan County Ambulance Service provides advanced life support ambulance service to over 28,000 people residing in Morgan County and thousands passing through. Our service area encompasses over 7,000 square miles and we respond to approximately 2,300 calls per year. We provide service 24 hours a day, seven days a week and respond from stations located in Fort Morgan, Brush and Wiggins.
